Winter Hokey Pokey in Sign Language

Most children probably already know and love the hokey pokey song, so I’d like to introduce to you a way to have a little more fun with it. In the cold winter months, you can’t help but to draw more attention to winter clothing and what you can do to keep warm outside. Your students will have a lot of fun singing and will be able to easily learn more vocabulary words and more about the winter season. You can introduce the idea by teaching the sign for winter, which is to shake fists and arms in front of body as if shivering. For the song, instead of using body parts, I suggest you substitute winter clothing to put in and out of the circle, such as this: You put your right mitten in, You put your right mitten out You put your right mitten in and You shake it all about You do the hokey pokey and You turn yourself around That’s what it’s all about Continue the song and substitute aEoeright mitten with the following signs: Right/Left mitten aE” Hold out one hand and keep the opposite hand in a fist as if putting on a glove Right/Left boot aE”

1) Pretend to pull a boot onto foot,

2) Make upside down B’s with hands and put together, or

3) Sign shoes – Bump fists together Hat aE” Place arms/hands over head as if to put on a hat, or pat your head Scarves aE” Make the motion of wrapping a scarf around neck Coats aE” Pull arms/hands over shoulders as if pulling on a coat Snow pants aE” Make sign for snow by trickling fingers down in front of self, and follow by the sign for pants by brushing hands up on legs Socks aE” Point two pointer fingers down opposite each other Remember to have fun while singing and signing with your students. Body Language For Effective Business Communication

You can improve your business standards by adopting the following business communication skills and body language. In business or daily life, communication should be strong, clear and positive.

Eye contact: Make sure the people or person is more interesting than what is on the floor. Make an eye contact with the person most of the time. But do not stare at people more than 15 seconds at a time.

Body posture: Body posture play an important role in business communication, try to face the person while communicating. Stand or sit up tall. But, don’t be a rigid board.

Distance/ physical contact: If you smell or feel the other person’s breathe, you are probably too close. Keep a comfortable distance of 3-4 feet at least.

Gestures: Use hand gestures to add to what you are communicating, but remember that you are not conducting an orchestra.

Facial expressions: Your face should match your sentiment and what you are communicating. Don’t laugh when you are upset and don’t have a scowl when you are happy. A calm, pleasant face is the best when you are happy. A calm, serious face is best when you are upset.

Voice tone, inflection, volume: When you are making an assertive message, you want to be heard by people. In order to be heard you have to concentrate to the tone of your voice (happy, whiny, upset), the inflection of your voice (emphasis on syllables), and volume of your voice (whisper to yell).

Fluency: It is significant to get out your words in an efficient manner. If a person stammers or rambles on, the listener gets uninterested.

Timing: When you are communicating negative feelings or making a request of someone, this is especially important. Perfect timing wins the situation. If you are communicating at the right time you will be successful in your business communication.

Listening: An important part of a business communication. If you are making statements that express your feelings without infringing on the rights of others, you need to give the other person a chance to reply.

Content: What person communicates is one of the most important parts of the assertive message. Depending on what a person is trying to accomplish, the content is going to be diverse.

Baby Sign Language – Sign For Hurt

No parent wants to see their child hurt, and if your child is hurt, you want to be able to help them. Unfortunately, babies can not always communicate if they are hurt or where they are hurt. Because of this, babies and toddlers will cry when something is wrong. Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine the reason they are crying and parents play the guessing game to figure out what is wrong. American Sign Language can help in this situation. Before babies can verbally tell you if they are hurt, they can communicate this by signing. To sign hurt, touch your two pointer fingers together. If you can teach this sign to your child, they will be able to sign if they are hurt or not. Even more importantly, they will be able to tell you where they are hurt. For example, if they sign “hurt” near their ear, it may mean they have an ear infection. To make it easier for your baby to learn this sign, you can practice on stuffed animals or toys. For example, you can make believe a teddy bear bumped his head and then explain that he hurt his head, while signing the word as well. Your child will begin to understand, and they will use the sign when they are hurt themselves. Continue to use the sign whenever you refer to someone or something that is hurt, whether it is something on a television show, in a book, etc. Soon, you will see how quickly your child learns the sign, and how much easier it will be to help them when they are hurt.

Oracle is the well known language of this world which was developed by the Sun Corporation. This language was introduced in late 60′s. Many software existed in this world right now are made on this language. Basically the word oracle is taken from the Latin whose English meaning is “to speak”. Sun Corporation which develop this programming language has an idea behind it which is; people should made their tailored software by using this language and this language should be renowned in this world so that people do not face difficulty in making and communicating the software. This idea centered the whole globe and now days same thing for which the company had developed this is going on. Much software which is developing for different field of the business is comprised on this “oracle” programming language. This language is getting enough popularity and need of the mankind; universities which are famous for the software; taught this programming language as an essential part of their studies.

Sun which develops this language has also developed many other languages such as Java and others. The company has also launched its operating system by the name of the Linux which is lighter as compare to others; lighter in a sense that it takes less power while working if seen in the context of others. Oracle is now available on net so that people can use it and make their own small software of their daily use. This language gave benefit to all without any discrimination. These software are related to many different types of department such as my SQL is simple and use to create data bases in the business and this software is mostly use by the management department of the business. Same like my SQL, oracle Linux is the operating system which is now getting popularity day by day, this software is used to run gadget such as laptops and personal computers. This software does not require any special skill, home user can run this software use it easily along with Linux people are also using web browser which is fire fox. This web browser is also made by the same company.
